senior pastor

Job Description: Senior Pastor

Overview of Messiah Church

Messiah Church, an Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC), is located in the growing and diverse community of southwest Detroit and has served at the corner of West Grand Boulevard and Toledo Avenue for over 100 years. We are a body of believers, about 100 in number, who worship on Sunday mornings, one service; a blend of contemporary and traditional worship styles, that places a high value on prayer, worship, and service.

We are seeking a pastor to lead us, help us renew our vision, and move us forward in outreach to our community. As the apostle Paul puts it in Ephesians 4:12-13, “for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.” Our church encompasses different worship styles and members of all ages, from various socioeconomic backgrounds and ethnic groups.
